The heatwave continues to sweep across the country and will start to gradually decrease from Sunday. Egyptian meteorological authority advised the public on Friday to avoid direct sunlight and to wear hats during the afternoon. The authority also recommended that people drink cold fluids and wear loose-fitting and light-colored cotton garments. Egypt has witnessed rising temperatures and humidity since Wednesday due to the Indian seasonal thermal depression that has caused scorching temperatures in Asian countries and is moving to several Middle Eastern countries, including Egypt.
